A student who transfers from another university to the Krakow University of Economics (KUE), and has a foreign language subject in his current study plans, should register for the foreign language course by e-mail. In each message that you send to the Language Center secretariat, please provide: your name and surname, student ID number, and field of study.
If the number of semesters completed at the previous university is correct, the student registers at the Language Center to continue his/her language studies. You should then send an e-mail to the Language Center secretariat, with a request to enroll in a given language course at a given level, accompanied by the information about the number of the completed semesters of language study from your previous university.
If a student has not completed the appropriate number of semesters or, in the case of full-time first-cycle studies, has only one language course completed (whereas two language courses are required at KUE), then, due to program differences, the student must register for language classes in a semester lower than the one in which he/she starts his/her studies at the Krakow University of Economics. To do this, you need to:
- Check your current class schedule.
- Find a language course group on the USOSweb website, the date of which will not overlap with your current class schedule.
- Then, contact the Language Center secretariat by e-mail in order to sign up for the specific group. The message should include: your name, surname, student number, mode and field of study, name of the subject (language and level), number of semesters completed at the previous university, and the selected day and time of classes.
Regarding point No. 2
In order to find a suitable language group, you need to:
- Go to the USOS web page in the “KATALOG” (“DIRECTORY”) tab [link here]
- In the “wyszukiwanie przedmiotów” (“Course search”) field, enter the full name of the required language group, e.g. CJ-S1-1/1-ENG.B2
Where:
- CJ stands for “Centrum Językowe” (Language Center);
- S1 stands for full-time first-cycle studies (while S2 means full-time second-cycle studies, N1 means part-time first-cycle studies, and N2 means part-time second-cycle studies);
- 1/1 stands for 1st year 1st semester (1/2 stands for 1st year 2nd semester, and 2/3 stands for 2nd year 3rd semester);
- ENG means the English language (here we enter the first 3 letters of the language we are interested in: ENG, GER, SPA and PLO – Polish language);
- B2 means the advancement level of language course (A1, B1, B2);
After opening the next window, at the bottom of the page, find “Zajęcia w cyklu “Semestr zimowy 2024/25 (w trakcie)” i.e.
“Classes in period “Winter semester 2024/2025″ (future)”, then go to the “Typ zajęć” (“Type of classes”) column and select “więcej informacji” (“more information”), which opens another page, with a list of language course groups.
