An external/certified exam with a business profile (e.g. LCCI, BEC, telc) passed at the level required in the final exam for a given level of language course (or higher – see below) in accordance with the CEFR scale (Common European Framework of Reference for Languages) is equivalent to obtaining the maximum number of points in the final exam. Students must provide copies of the certificate entitling them to exemption from the exam to the instructor. The certificate must specify the level of the exam passed.
External/certified non-profiled exams – an exam passed at the level required in the final exam for a given language level (or higher – see below) in accordance with the CEFR scale (Common European Framework of Reference for Languages) is equivalent to obtaining the maximum number of points in the final language exam (40 points) from the following sections: reading comprehension, listening comprehension, grammar and vocabulary. However, students are still required to pass the “business correspondence” section of the final exam, which tests business vocabulary (10 points). 40 points for the external exam passed plus the number of points obtained for business correspondence is the final number of points awarded for the final examination.
PLEASE NOTE! External certificates do not exempt you from the obligation to attending business-profiled language classes and obtain a course pass.
