Objective |
REGISTRATION AND FOREIGN LANGUAGE QUALIFICATION Language qualification requires the submission of a certificate in a foreign language and/or the participation in the exam conducted by the DFL for the purpose of recruitment. ATTENTION! Students who gained O points at the exam conducted by the DFL have not fullfilled the language requirements at B2 level as described by CEFR (Common European Framework for Languages). Exams:
English – October 01, 2020 Languages: French, Spanish, German, Russian, Italian ─ October 01, 2020
Essential information: There is only one language examination date! Note: The University Foreign Language Course Examination results are also taken into account. Students who took part in language courses at CUE at B2 or C1 level, with satisfactory plus (3.5), good (4.0) or very good (5.0) grades will be exempted from sitting the Foreign Language Exam.

The level of foreign language shall be based on the result of the examination conducted by CUE DFL.
B2 level spoken qualification examination
The examination is conducted remotely online and takes about 20 minutes. The questions asked by the examiner will be relating to everyday life, interests, and current events.
Points will be awarded for:
- grammatical accuracy and vocabulary
- pronunciation
- the ability to produce complex arguments
- short reading comprehension and a follow-up discussion
- general impression

Student represents B2 level if he/she obtains three B2 grades and the other two are either C1 or B1.
Certificates/copies should be sent via email to: lankoa@uek.krakow.pl (DFL office) by 05 October 2020. In addition, foreign education diploma or a Modern Languages/Philology diploma exempt a student from the foreign language qualification examination / 6 pts. /
The results of the qualification examination conducted from 2018 will be recognized in the current Study Abroad Scholarship qualifications. The certification does not exclude the possibility of an accession to the qualification examination on generally accepted principles. / points do not add up /
Students can be awarded an exemption from the foreign language qualification in the following cases:
- they have obtained a degree in a modern language philology
- they have completed the International Baccalaureate Diploma Programme or a bilingual school leaving examination programme (the grades received in the language examination are not considered)
- they have a certificate to confirm the course completion as part of the student exchange programme, indicating the target language of this course
- they have obtained the satisfactory plus (3.5), good grade (4.0) or higher at the end of their language course at the level of B2 or C1, conducted at CUE or other universities. In case of the C1 level, the grade satisfactory (3.0) might be respected as well.
Points awarded:
Level B2, grade 3.5 - 4 points
Level B2, grade 4.0 or higher - 5 points
Level C1, grade 3.0 and 3.5 – 5 points
Level C1, grade 4.0 or higher - 6 points
